I rarely take my ring off, I’m afraid I’ll lose it otherwise! Its so easy to misplace such a small item.

Yes I take mine off too unless we have people over. I don’t like it to feel wet behind my ring with all the hand washing and food prep going on!

Literally the first thing I do when I get home!

On the one hand I’m so worried I’ll damage it when wearing it doing certain things because it’s a very delicate setting.

On the other hand I’m worried I’ll loose it if I take it off too much. Fiance also gets sad when he sees me not wearing it.

I take it off when working with my hands, bathing, or putting on body lotion, but I keep it on when sleepping or waching my hands outside of the home.

I have an older friend who said the best advice she can give me is to never take it off unless I am skiing. She has known people who had it go down the garbage disposal and lost it and all sorts of other unfortunate fates from taking it off too often… now I’m just terrified to leave it on OR take it off lol.

@jessyrez:  I do too. As soon as I walk in the door, I’d take all of my jewelry off. I can’t do any household chores with my rings on. This has been my habit even way before I got married.

I do. #1– I have meatier finger bases.. meaning it’s not my knuckle that keeps my ring on, it’s my flesh and fat at the very base that does. My rings are a GOOD fit. They don’t muffin-top spill-over, but they do leave a tiny mark. I hate that mark. So I take it off so I don’t end up with a permanent ring mark on my finger. #2– it’s just more comfortable. I wash my hands so many times and I hate hate hate the feeling of water trapped between my ring and my skin. *Shudder*. I sometimes take it off near the sink to dry my hands first, then dry my ring.. but it’s happened a few times where I fricken forget it there by the sink! Where any cat can jump up and knock it into the toilet! EEK! Yeah… no more! #3– it prevents my ring from getting damaged. I have insurance on it, but it’s still very sentimental to me. I don’t want to accidentally whack it! #4– I like my diamonds clean and sparkly, which means I don’t want it getting mucked up with dirt, lotions, my dog’s saliva, my hair or skin’s oils, etc. #4– I also have pave diamonds and a halo. I would like to decrease the chances of melee falling out, or at least post-pone it as much as I can 🙂

I know a lot of women NEVER take their rings off, but I don’t think my man’s going anywhere just cus I do. I also don’t think our relationship will magically have bad luck :p

I tend to take mine off at home, and then I am terrible about remembering to put it back on! Ugh, terrible, I know! I am lucky if I remember my phone when I leave the house.

Yep, me too. Take them off as soon as I get home. Helps to keep them looking brand new.

I don’t wear my engagement ring at all at home unless we have company! And when I go to work I take it off as soon as I get home!

Can’t see it being that different with my wedding ring either!

@jessyrez:  Mine engagement ring comes off when I shower (as the shampoo and conditioner make it slip round), when I’m blow-drying my hair (they get really hot!), and when I’m doing something like marinating meat/painting/decorating. Otherwise, it stays on 24/7: I sleep in it, wash my hands with it on, wash up with it on, and swim with it.

@jessyrez:  Meeee I doooo I just do too many things when I get home that I would take my ring off for anyway, and I don’t like to sleep in it, so there’s just no real point, I’d rather keep it somewhere safe.

@jessyrez:  Mine never comes off- unless I am digging in the dirt or handling raw meat.  I even shower with it on!  I’d be way to afraid of losing it, and I just feel like the ring- soon to be ringS in 6 days!)- are a symbol.  I understand certain rings are more delicate that others- but if I had to take it on and off everyday, it would seem more like costume jewelry to me than my wedding ring(s)!!

@jessyrez: I do. I don’t like wearing rings in general. My Fiance does the same. We put it on before going out because it’s right beside our perfume so it’s part of the ”going out” routine. If one of us forgets, it’s not a big deal.
