That sounds AMAZING!
Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll look them up!
It’s nice to hear other people are going this route & I really like the idea of minimooning directly after the wedding, then doing a big trip in a year or so when the wallet has loosened up some… maybe give me something to obsess over when the wedding’s over?lol

We had a mini-minimoon–stayed at a really great hotel for one night. Since we got married on a Friday and DH had the entire weekend off, we were able to just relax at home the other two days, which was nice.

That’s what we’re doing, although we haven’t decided where yet. I’m hoping we can take a bigger trip on our 1-yr anniversary. For now, it will probably be a few days somewhere in Cape Cod, Vermont, or Maine.

We’re doing a mini-moon too! We’re going to drive to some cute coastal towns and stay at B&Bs for 4-5 nights.
We decided that it was more realistic for us to do a nice local trip, get our sheckles in order, and take a bigger trip for our 1 year anniversary!
No matter where you go, the honeymoon will be fantastic!

We’re doing a couple days in Baltimore. National Aquarium, crab restaurants, maybe a ball game. Plus, it’s the same weekend as the giant anime convention. Otakon honeymoon? Yes please!
We’re trying to save money for a down payment on a house, which in the DC area is reeeeeeally expensive.

That sounds great- would love to go to Napa Valley! Our resort will have a full kitchen/back porch w/ grill, so we plan on cooking in some too 🙂
LOVE LOVE B&B’s- great idea!

Probably. Aside from saving for/ paying for the wedding, we’re replacing the roof on our house this spring (among other projects), besides that my partner is going back to school next March for 5 months so we have to pinch our pennies to make sure we have enough money to support two households.
We might not even go on a honey/mini moon period :/

We are “minimooning” at the same resort where we are getting married. Our family is all traveling to the beach and we are all staying in the same resort….they’re all leaving Tuesday after the wedding and we are staying until Friday, so we will have a few days to ourselves….the location is only 4 hours from where we live. I would’ve loved to go somewhere exotic for weeks but it just wasn’t possible for us….but I guarantee we will have just as much fun on our mini honeymoon!!!

We are hoping to go to Bali. Its near Japan and very inexpensive from here. It probably won’t be right after the wedding though. Maybe a few months later.

We’re going to go to around the south coast of England for ours in our campervan. As we make payments for it each month and don’t use it enough. We’re thinking of going somewhere more exotic for our 1st year anniversary. I fancy the California coastline.

I love the resort u picked… so pretty and only like 40 mins from my house!! 🙂 We are mini mooning right after the wedding, i was thinking of driving to the west coast (maybe siesta key) and then taking a bigger official honeymoon later in the year when I have more time off work.

We’re going to take the train up to NYC from DC and have a combo “private destination wedding/minimoon.” We’ve book four nights at the UN Millenium Plaza Hotel and are going to have a bit of fun in the city. I’m so excited!

We are heading to Bar Harbour, ME to go to Acadia National Park. Along the way we may stop in CT to go to a casino that has a Margaritiville (FI is obsessed) and maybe in RI on the way home. I hadnt considered this a “mini-moon” since we will be gone for a week, but it is not an “exotic” location per say, so….. I would have LOVED to go to a Sandals, or some other all incusive type place, but Fiance does not like to fly nor does he like to just “hang out” all day and drink tropical drinks!! 🙂 Maybe someday I can convince him… either way, our honeymoon will be fun and special since it will be our first vacation as a married couple!!
Happy mooning wherever you go!

We might be able to snag a time share from the Future In-Laws for mexico, but we will probably go up to canada (I live in north WA) and go to whistler for a few days. Its BEAUTIFUL in the summer, and not that busy or expensive because most their business is for the ski season.
We can only take at most a week off because we have two kids, and both grandparents are going to be taking turns and having to take off work. Maybe when they are old enough to not be so hands on we will take a longer one (18 years I am guessing? lol)

We’re going to stay two nights in a hotel on the Oregon coast.
This is the view we’ll have from the hotel.
