Hey bees! I wanted to know what hair vitamins/supplements the hive uses to grow your hair!
I’ve gone a bit vitamin crazy recently, It started with one, but it has grown since then!
Currently I’m taking
- Nature’s Bounty Healthy Skin and Nails (capsules and gummy)
- Coconut oil capsules
- Fish Oil
- Blackberry oil
- Amaranth seel oil
- Women’s gummy vitamin
- Collegen powder mixed with Diamataecous earth first thin in the morning and right before bed
I also started using the Viviscal shampoo, conditioner and elixir. I have made my own elixir blend though.
My home brew elixir has
- Squalene (olive derived)
- Amaranth oil
- Argan oil
- Viviscal Elixir
lol I dodn’t know what cam over me. My hair definitly started growing more when I started with one! Then I just, kept going and now I have to spend part of my sunday organizing my “pill” boxes. My favorite is the collagen powder. My nails feel different when I used it. I had my Fiance try it for a few days too. He wants stronger nails for guitar. HE said he noticed a difference! Lol if you knew, him, that would be huge.
Also disclaimer. I am not a health care professional. I checked the labels to make sure I wasn’t getting too much of the potentiall dangerous vitamins like iron, but I don’t actually know what I’m doing!

Following this thread because I’m curious what’s working for others. I’ve been taking collagen for a few months and can’t really tell if it’s doing anything for my hair or nails. I also take biotin and a prenatal hoping it will help my hair grow faster, but I’m not seeing much of a difference. Maybe I need to try something else?

I take collagen supplements for the anti-aging and skin benefits but have noticed a difference in my hair.
I thought it was my imagination LOL..but my stylist also agrees that the strands feel thicker…

I just take biotin daily and use argan oil before bed (1-3 times a week).

I take lysine and Viviscal. I used to take biotin, but stopped that when I started the Viviscal two months ago. It’s too early to determine if my hair is growing in thicker, but I am definitely shedding less.

Wow that’s a lot of supplements lol. I take a vitamin B complex including biotin. I’m a vegetarian and when I’m not getting enough protein my nails and then hair are the first thing to show it.

Wowza that is a long list of stuff. I’d probably run that by your doc next time just to see what they think of it. Better safe than sorry.
Before I was pregnant, I took 1/2 pill of biotin every day (or every other day if I forgot). I couldn’t do a whole pill or else I’d breakout. It worked great, I actually thought my hair/nails were growing too fast.
Now that I’m pregnant, I take a prenatal (the rainbow kind) and a DHA supplement (Nordic Naturals something). Hair/nails grow like crazy but idk if that’s due to the prenatal/supplement or just hormones. Or the fact that I’m having a boy (if you believe old wives’ tales).

Haha I know right? But I feel confident that they aren’t bad all together. Most of them are different kind of oils. I did check with the vitamins though that only the water soluable one are over lapping.
