@ThreeMeers:  I don’t understand what you mean by ‘the value of the bee’. How is it different than any other forum? Plenty of other forums allow the deletion of posts and it does not in any way take away from their integrity.

Whenever I’ve been on a board where people could delete or edit posts and then a thread got really heated, suddenly you have people taking screen shots of the ridiculous things others are posting and then putting up the screen shots and sh*t gets crazy. I’d rather not see that. Perhaps a better idea would be the ability to edit a post but with the history of the edits remaining visible if you choose to see it.

Even on here with the one hour edit option, I’ve been in threads where an OP said something really offensive and people responded and then the OP edited it and people who came later were all pissed at those who responded to the original content because now those bees suddenly seemed like heinous b*tches. I can only imagine what would happen on some of the more heated posts.

@mrsSonthebeach:  Not that it’s a big deal, but if you delete your facebook your comments do disapper. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I actually like that we can’t go and change all our posts.  I have seen that create issues on other forums.  I wouldn’t mind if people were able to delete everything though.  Maybe there would have to be a waiting period before they could join again if they decided to do so?  That might help prevent some people from joining and deleting and rejoining constantly.

@yogaqueen:  Maybe what I see are comments from a deactivated account then. The comment will still be there but the name is unclickable.

@mrsSonthebeach:  Maybe it’s different for actual wall posts. But for example on some photos I had comments from someone and they deleted their account and those comments aren’t there anymore and then the other comments don’t make sense haha…but like I said wall posts could be different, I’m not sure.

I think we should be able to edit at any time – as long as there is a note on the post then saying when it was edited.

While I don’t think we should be able to delete our posts ourselves, I think that the grounds for requesting deletion of posts should be more lenient than privacy concerns. I’ve been on other forums where I’ve needed to vent, then had second thoughts a few days later, or the issue has been resolved, so I don’t feel that it needs to be there. I was really surprised when WeddingBee didn’t have a similar option.

@yogaqueen:  I was blocked by someone and sometimes it takes me a second to make sense out of comments on photos of mutual friends that she must have commented on and I can’t see those comments. It’s really weird.

I completely agree! Why can’t we delete some of our forums, or change our posts? We can only change it for an hour after we post it, right?? I was so surprised when I learned these rules when I joined Wedding Bee…  What other website has rules like these?

I think it may be some kind of cheaper forum package or something, because WeddingBee still isn’t a massively huge wedding forum.

Wishing I could just edit a title right now. Totally misspelled something, and now my inability to use autocorrect correctly makes me look like I cant differentiate between our country’s capital city and a south American nation :/
