I really like the idea of an earlier wedding followed by a lovely brunch. We are having a small wedding, less than 50 people. I also don’t want people drinking a lot, so we could get away with less alcohol. Would you be happy with this menu if cocktail hour started at 10:30am?
Wild Mushroom Tartlets
Mini Beef Wellingtons
Black Forest Ham and Dill Cream Cheese Pinwheels
Basket of Freshly Baked Breakfast Breads
Sliced Fresh Fruit Tray
Cottage Fried Potatoes
Country Sausage Links & Smoked Bacon
Assortment of Fruit Juices
Freshly Brewed Coffee & Decaf
Black and Herbal Teas
Challah French Toast
Amaretto batter, hazelnut-praline butter,
fresh strawberries and real maple syrup

Brunch is my favorite meal! I think the menu sounds great. I would love a brunch wedding but in my initial resarch online I couldn’t seem to find any caters that had brunch options other than simple bagel and pastry trays.

@lovekiss: We are seriously considering doing a brunch menu. Your menu sounds wonderful! Also one thing I’m thinking of doing is an omelet station where people get to choose what goes in their omelets and they are made to order. Everything else looks great!

I’m doing a brunch wedding too. We technically start the wedding at noon so ceremony at 1 but I loved the brunch menu way more than lunch

@Irishowl1976: We’re also doing brunch! Your menu looks perfect 🙂 that French toast sounds a-MAZ-ing!

I love your menu, and I’d eat everything on it!
Just a few suggestions tho, you can take it or leave it. Your apps are mostly the lunch/heavier food, whereas your buffet is almost all the breakfast foods. Id maybe remove one of your apps, and replace it with something more “breakfasty” like a French toast triangle or something, and add something a bit more “lunchy” to the buffet. Kwim?

Cocktails at 10:30 sounds a little strange to me, unless you’re having Bloody Marys and Mimosas, but you’re brunch menu sounds divine! I’d happily eat any (and all) of that!

Awww your menu sounds amazing. Great choices. Brunch is the best meal of the day IMO.
I wanted to go with a brunch for our wedding reception too, but unfort the only available time for the ceremony is 12pm. Fiance suggested having a pre-ceremony reception brunch, but I feel more comfortable celebrating after the ceremony, not before. I could do what Chrissy26 is doing and just eat brunch in the afternoon anyway!

Sounds awesome! I love the idea of brunch receptions. The only thing is maybe you should add a lunch-ish protein? Maybe have a carved ham? Right now, the brunch seems a little heavy on the breakfast side.

@Irishowl1976: yep. Sounds like my menu.

@Irishowl1976: That menu sounds delicious! I’m another bride having a breakfast/brunch reception. Breakfastfood is mine and FH’s favorite and yes, it saves a ton on alcohol lol We’re really excited!

Sure hope there’s some mimosas and bloody marys on that menu, and my only other suggestion is that you have a lot more breakfast items and lesss lunch items for it to truly have the “brunch” title. Maybe one or two salads and a pasta?
