I think they’re timeless. I considered wearing one as I loved lace but when comparing it to a different material, though it looked nice, it just looked a little plain on me. You’ll know when you try on the one!

I really really wanted a lace dress until EVERY.SINGLE.BRIDE. began to wear them. I didn’t want to be trendy and that’s what they’ve become.

I told myself when I went dress shopping that I would not be buying an all lace gown and while I tried one on that I really liked, I refused because I didn’t want to look like everyone else.

I see more lace recently but I wouldn’t call it super popular in comparison to other fabrics. I still ove it. I haven’t started dress shopping yet but I plan to try on a few lace beauties

Just like any style/fabric, there are some dresses that are gorgeous and some that look like tablecloths.  I’m not that into lace personally and I don’t care for it on me, but beautiful lace dress is still gorgeous!

No more tired of seeing lace dresses then I am of seeing mermaid style or strapless. Brides pick the dress they like because it makes them feel beautiful, can’t really say anything negative about that.

i’m wearing a lace dress, and i didn’t really think of the fact that it’s “trendy” and “every bride is wearing it now”… i got one cuz i love the look.

maybe you’re just noticing it more because now you are a bride?   i don’t think lace dresses were ever not in for brides.

I see waaaaaay more satin rouched mermaid dresses than I see lace dresses.

Lace is classic and timeless, and I don’t know if it will ever be a trend that comes and goes.  People will always want lace wedding gowns.

@KatyElle: That makes two of us, at least.

I don’t think lace is overdone at the moment, but I do think ruffles are a bit. I was tempted by lace but thought dupion might be more wearable in the longer term (as in, I plan to rewear my dress and a white lace dress wouldn’t have fulfilled that brief so well).

I’m not a big fan of most all-lace dresses, but I do like lace as an accent.

I have to agree with Vandykins, I have seen more satin ruched mermaids than any other style. I wonder if that style will be seen more as a trend in 5-10 years. You always saw lace A line dresses, although some of them had wild puffy sleeves 20 years ago lol

I love all kinds of dresses, lace or not.  I’m a lover, not a hater (when it comes to dresses at least.. HA!)
