It’s funny. I was pretty anti-lace when I started my dress search at the start of the year. I ended up with a gorgeous lace dress by Pronovias and I can’t wait to wear it. My choice had nothing to do with Kate Middleton (I actually wasn’t a huge fan of her dress) but I can see how that jump-started the whole popularity of lace again.
I have to agree with others – definitely timeless, classic and hopelessly romantic to wear lace! But it’s definitely not for everyone!! They will continue to trend along with other styles, but it’s the one type of dress I say never goes out of style!

When I started looking for dresses, I kept saying that I didn’t want a princess dress/ballgown. And guess what I ended up with?!! haha.. ballgown!! I am just saying… never say never!! Try to be versatile and try on dresses in many different styles. You never know what type of dress will look amazing on your body type unitl you try them on.
I do get what you are trying to say though and I think some girls are being way too sensitive. If someone said that about ballgowns.. it wouldn’t offend me!! I always try to do something different. To me, there are lace dresses that are really modern: i.e. lace dress with key hole and lace dress in mermaid style. Tell the consultant that you dont want modern. And they will find a more traditional or unique lace dress if thats what you want. Just because its lace doesnt mean its modern. There are some that look more traditional than others.

I love lace! I wore a lace mermaid gown and I did not choose it because it was trendy. I chose it because I loved the way it fit and accentuated my figure. I never thought of lace being trendy. It is more timeless. I definitely do not think they all look the same! Of course designers make similar dresses but that does not apply only to lace.
