@Dell79:  NEY is where I posted. I hung out there for a year before I was engaged.

@star_dust:  like one of the PP mentioned its like they have formed a clique and in order to get in you’ve got to be snarky and bitter, they love the thrill of putting newcomers down and justify it that they are just being “honest”…two times I went over there to defend new posters and to tell them about weddingbee 🙂

I got curious and looked…SHEESH, they are quite full of themselves! Since when is it “cool” to be a bully?!

I tried didn’t like it. I can’t believe that women can act like teens. You suppose to find support and have fun in these sights. I wouldn’t put up with the bs is like they try bully people.

HAHAAA!!! Um…yes!!! Wayyy too much snark & just a “mean girls” vibe there. Now, I haven’t checked it out for a couple of years, but from PP’s have said, it obviously hasn’t changed much since last time I visited. Once I found WB I saw no reason to waste my time on any other wedding-related site.

The tags on this thread crack me up. 🙂

Honestly, I understand the snark. I don’t mind it…sometimes there are some pretty silly people posting and it’s got to be annoying for the regulars. I’m close with a bunch of Ju e brides I met there and we all kept up on each others plans for over a year. With a month to go, as we were all winding down, there was an influx of panicked newbies who had drama, drama, dama. I just stopped going there completely, but some could not resist a few snarky responses.

Anyway, there are different styles for different types….but I still think TK doesn’t function well. I love that people can post nice, large images here. I also like that our search feature works and the DIY/ gallery sections are well organized.

I’m not a big fan of inflating one’s own ego by puting others’ down. My soon-to-be cousin-in-law said she went to The Knot and could not believe how unsupportive and rude they were. She proceeded to GTFO of there.

You want to ‘take over their boards’ and ‘start drama’. Do you want to be the pot or the kettle?

@Mrs. Mink:  I had never noticed the tags before. That’s hillarious!

(I am now going back and checking the tags of older threads)

I was on there for quite awhile and was ‘semi’ accepted, but every so often the girls there could be pretty mean, both to me and other posters. I cut mean girls out of my life awhile ago, and eventually realised that I didn’t want to be part of an online community of mean girls so I left. I thought that once Fiance proposed posting on there would be one of the first things I would do, but I don’t even think I posted about it on there. The only thing I like about The Knot vs other wedding sites is that their dress search function is better than any I’ve seen. Other than looking up inspiration ideas on the sire I won’t be visiting in anymore.

@kmsw:  This is why I always type ‘face value’. I never pick up on that stuff. My appologies.
