Hi Everyone,
Just curious as to how many of you use or are using your engagement ring as your wedding band also. My wonderful dh bought me an unexpeced upgraded e-ring. We are having a vow renewal in May (yippee) and he wants to use the new e-ring as the ring he will be giving me during the renewal. I’m having a VERY hard time not wearing it right now and actually I have worn it a couple times here and there…LOL
If you have pics of your ring please post them too!!
Thanks!!

megan331979: I’m thinking of just having my e-ring be my every-ring. Hehe. It’s pretty blingy, for me, so we’ll see. I don’t have a problem with that at all. You only have to wait til May, though!

Why not wear the new ring now, and get a very thin, plain wedding band to go with it?? Than have him put that on your finger at the renewal? That’d be nice to do. And, he can even engrave something in it too.. Also, can we see a pic of the new ring?!?!?!

My XSIL didn’t have an engagement ring. When she and my brother got married they exchanged wedding rings, and hers looked like an e-ring. It’s not as common to do that anymore, but just because it’s popular to have two rings, doesn’t mean it’s a necessity. If you want to wear one ring, you absolutely should.

I am 🙂 I love my ring and I’m not interested in adding anything to it.

megan331979: I did. We got married last July and my husband bought me a band that I wanted for our anniversary in February just because. So now I wear them together.

Thanks everyone 🙂 Actually I am getting a REALLY thin band to wear with it since the band I wear now is platinum and my new ring is yellow gold. I have wore them together, but the band widths are a little off and just don’t look right to me. The new ring is my avatar pic, but I will post it again so it’s easier to see.
Thanks for all the replies!! Oh, I would use the new plain band during the ceremony, but dh is stuck with using the e-ring…LOL He doesn’t care if I wear it now, but for some reason I feel strange wearing it before the ceremony….that’s just me I guess. LOL

Me! I thought it would be too much with another ring, and I didn’t want to hidethe scroll work on the side profile. It is kind of bothersome when people ask when I’m getting married because I only have one ring, but it’s understandable.

Cory_loves_this_girl: It’s lovely!! I can see why you wouldn’t want a band with it!

megan331979: We’re not buying another set of rings. We both have our e-rings and they’ll become our wedding rings as well. 🙂

I am! My ring is an heirloom. The center stone is from my great-grandmother’s engagement ring and the setting is from my husband’s grandmother’s engagement ring. I kind of love it. A lot. And it’s got really pretty scroll work on the sides that I don’t want to cover up. And I usually find wedding bands to look unbalanced unless there are double bands above and below the e-ring. So my husband gave it to me when we got engaged and I wore it throughout the engagement, then took it off the night before the wedding for the ring warming that started at the Welcome Dinner. Then my husband gave it back to me, as a wedding bad, during out wedding ceremony. I love the way it looks on its own! I expected to get some flack from friends/family who thought it was weird, but actually nobody said anything about it! Easier than I thought!

Once I upgrade my ring I’ll wear a band again but for now the band sizes were different and so I didn’t like it! I may wear my diamond band on my right hand until I upgrade.
