@LauraCYW: Well, this is purely a guess on my part.  However, I suspect that its the fact that James Clifford makes beautiful gowns in natural fabrics (i.e. 100 silk) and which feature expensive materials, such as Swarovski crystals (but in smaller quantities) just like many of the more popular, high-end designers.  However, his gowns are much more reasonably priced.  Brides with smaller budgets likely won’t find his designs at some of the stores where they are shopping, and brides with much larger budgets are skipping right to the more popular, much more expensive designers. Again, this is just a guess, but I think there may be something to this theory.

@LauraCYW:

I am wearing the same dress! It just came out! It is so classic! I can’t wait to show it off. Very detailed. You should be happy not many brides are wearing it!

I am wearing J1820.  Bought it several weeks ago, and was lucky enough to fit in the sample, and buy it at a discount, as it was in perfect condition.  Very excited about my dress…  It’s slimifying, tallifying…  :  )  Very flattering.

I wore James Clifford J1803. Like you, I wondered why nobody heard of him before and felt a little left out of the Maggie Sottero/Allure group. I never did try on an Allure but the Maggie’s I tried were too hot and very heavy for an outdoor wedding in July. I stumbled across this dress and am very happy with my choice,

I am a James Clifford bride!!!!! I never thought I would like a style like this..but I absolutely fell in love with this dress- and this is the one that made my Mom and sister cry…. It happened to be the first dress I tried on when I went “preliminary” dress shopping with just one of my girlfriends.  It was the third one I tried on for my Mom and sister- and when the tears started I just knew it was the one!!!  My dress is style J21117. You can’t really see the detail in this picture but it is all-over chantilly lace and I just love it! It has a drop waist AND a natural waist with the sash- it is extremely flattering

Gorgeous dresses girls!!

I got my James Clifford dress on Tuesday for my June 2017 wedding. I won’t come in until September so I am glad that I already found it. I had tried on at least 10 dresses and as soon as I tried on the JC one, I knew it was “the one.”
