That was us last year – we had one every month between April and August, our wedding was in September, and then we went to one in November. It was intense!

We had 4 weddings last year, including one the week before ours, and one 2 weeks after (had to miss that one, we were on our honeymoon). We’ve already been to one this year and have 2 more that are coming up in the next couple of months! Just keep all the good food in mind ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ugh, yes.

  • one uncle next week
  • A friend in May
  • another uncle in July
  • a friend in October
  • ours in November
  • and possibly next year my brothers.

I don’t know how I’m going to afford all these presents…I’m broke as a joke

That was the worst part – coming up with funds for all the gifts while saving for our own wedding!

Can you (if you want to) get out of going to any of them?

Are you in the Wedding Party for any of them or just attending as a guest?

I am in the same boat. We have already had one wedding, and have 3 more to go this year, BEFORE our Sept wedding. I am very happy for every one of them, but they are almost all “rushed” weddings–they didnt date very long at all before getting engaged (weird that this year seems to be the year of all of those, lol) and even though Fiance and I were planning on getting engaged for a while, they all beat us to it, or did so right after us, so now it kind of looks like we are just on the band wagon, but I’m not worrying too much–I just keep thinking of how happy everyone is going to be. Plus, I think of all the awesome food, cake, and drinks we get to enjoy with our friends. I like to think that we are saving the best wedding for last, though ๐Ÿ˜‰

@loveknows:

That might help a bit ๐Ÿ™‚

Make sure to save some gas in the tank for your own day!

Ugh yes I’ve already been to two in the last few month and then i’m in one in a few weeks.  Then there’s mine in June and another in August.  Between that and baby showers I’m BROKE.

I’ve been engaged since August last year with no plans to get married until 2012.

My littlest sister’s bf decided to propose to her over Skype right before their baby was born. They’re getting married before he goes into the military sometime this year.

My middle sister’s bf proposed about 2 months ago and they’re getting married in July.

The biggest problem with this (I’m super happy for them btw) is that, nobody cared about my engagement in the first place because of the excitement over the baby and now they don’t care because of the more upcomming wedding. They say it’s only because mine is so far away, but I’m not buying it. They’ve really never paid too much attention to me to begin with.

Looks like we’ve lucked out this year. I wasn’t sure if we would be invited to FI’s cousin’s wedding in June but since the future in-laws got their invite last week, I’m thinking we didn’t make the cut for that one (We’re inviting her to ours so it’s midly annoying but I’m fine with not having to buy her a gift!)

So there’s just one wedding in July that we’re probably attending.

@Potatoes:awww I’m sorry! I would be really sad if I was in your shoes. I’m pretty excited because I think my brother is going to be getting engaged soon and at first I was upset that I didn’t know if I was going to like it but now I’m thrilled. I was scared the attention was going to be taken away from me.

I think the thing you should know is that on that day everyone will still think you are beautiful. And just because people don’t care about your wedding does not mean that everything the two of you have gone through is made any less. Nothing other people say can diminish that.
