I just started tempting and last month I had a luteal phase of 17 days. This month I am currently on day 15. I tested on 13do, but it was a BFN so I guess I am out this month. I feel this isn’t fair! Everyone else gets a two week wait, but mine is closer to three!!! Tell me I am not alone in my pity party!

futuremrssquiggs: Havent had that myself, but seems the average norm is 12-16. TCYF states the longest it can be is 17 days, its not possible to be longer.. ovulation day might be getting delayed, come early, etc, but after ovulation, af will always come 12-16 days later. Are you sure temps are 100% accurate? There can be a day or two delay between actual ovulation and temp spike. I guess it is much more probable to be off on ovulation timing by few days, than having long luteal phase.

futuremrssquiggs: Mine is approx 16 days. I have been pregnant 4 times this year (3were MCs) and I knew for each of them that I was KU a week before AF was due which I thought was pretty cool. If I didn’t get a positive pregnancy test by 12DPO I used to see it as an opportunity for a bit of a blow out (which usually involved cocktails!)

I agree, I think I read 16-17 days in the longest it can be but it can’t be longer than 17. I would think the O date was off if it was longer than that. You could look at it as a positive, longer for implantation to happen! Better than having a 7 or 8 day luteal phase when you would start AF before implantation would happen. Maybe look at the positive side?

I have a 15 day LP. I’ve occasionally had 16 and 17 day ones as well and it’s never been shorter than 14 days.
