gemabride:  How much does the ring guard help? My knuckle size is a 3 3/8 but the base of my finger is maybe a 3? Don’t know for sure but it’s definitely a lot smaller than my knuckle. I’d be interested in trying a ring guard like the one you pictured if it helps!

vericari:  I hope you had better luck this time!  My ring is pretty tight right now so I’m going to see how it fits in the summer and rethink if I need to resize it or not.  I’m also worried that mine will be too tight when it gets hot and humid here in the summer!

Everyone else has made really good points about being able to resize to 4.5 or 4.75 and sizing beads, etc.

I just wanted to add that when I got my ring resized because it was flying off my hand (4.5), my jeweler measured me and told me I was a size 4. And size 4 fits, but very tightly. So I asked him to go up to 4.25. But then we tried a 4.25 on and it was too big. So, what he did was make a size 4+ ring for me. Basically, he sized the ring up to be just slightly over 4, but under 4.25. Any jeweler can make this work if they know what they’re doing! So you have options, just try other jewelers.

minimelts:  I’ve been wearing the ring with the ring guard everyday and it totally helps.  So when I put it on, I use my nail to “bend” the guard towards my finger to tighten it.  Then when I take it off, I do the reverse.  The guard stays put, it’s flexible so you can bend it as much as you want.

minimelts:  Just a heads up, I had a jeweler who wanrned me that metal ring guards can damage the ring, and even bend it over time if the band is not very thick.

We are having an issue with my Fiances ring because his knuckle is huge from a hurling accident last year yet his finger is normal. So what do we do? It’s hard to get a ring over the knuckle and then if we do it is huge on.

Help !!

My ering is a size 7.75 and it spins like crazy too! My knuckles are bigger so I’m not worried about it falling off but it’s a true problem To have.

My issue is my finger does swell a lot during the warmer months to where it doesn’t spin or move at all. I don’t think you’ll have a time when it doesn’t spin but you should prob go with 4.5 or 4.75. my ring is from kays and they have this whole key ring filled with all the ring sizers.

You should be able to get 4.5 or 4.75 between a those. And I think that ring insert is a good option (the things others posted before me)

bzbride2277:  Really? My band is only 1.8mm.  🙁  I guess I’ll have to research well first!

vericari:  Glad you got the size that’s perfect for you!

If anyone else is still reading this post and wondering about the sizing beads, I got them against my better judgement after I smashed my knuckle and it’s permanently a full size bigger than my finger base – but to my surprise the beads are great and I don’t feel them at all.  Here’s a pic.
