I love hearing about all of these big budget brides. A more detailed breakdown would be good too!

littlemisshostess:  If you don’t mind me asking, how much was it going to cost at Wheatleigh? I just checked out the website and it. is. gorgeous! But I can’t find prices anywhere.

StoriaCrissosa:  I believe that it was $25K for the site rental for the day (and then food, beverage etc all on top of that)

its a very beautiful place but my other issue was that I don’t think that they can actually seat 150 for dinner in one room (you had to be in a few different rooms I think?) and they only have like 15 rooms on site and we wanted everyone to be together but we didn’t really get too serious once we found out the site rental was so expensive so I am not 100% sure

Our “budget” (we don’t really have one) is about 50-60K for 125 or so guests. That said, if we were having a HUGE wedding of like 200+ people, we’d probably easily be spending 100K. Our parents have been extremely generous, and are basically letting us have whatever we want, so our budget isn’t set in stone, and may end up being more like 60-70K. Not as high as yours, but still an outrageous amount of money to comprehend (and this is excluding rings and honeymoon). I feel guilty at times, but at the end of the day, our families can afford it, and things are EXPENSIVE where we live! We lucked out with our venue being really affordable for what it is, and that has allowed us to get everything else we’ve wanted (so far). I am also cutting corners in terms of things neither of us really care about (ex. the dress), so that’ll help keep costs down by a few grand, too. I say enjoy the money and have fun with it! As long as no one was forced into funding an event they can’t afford, there’s nothing to feel guilty about.

littlemisshostess:  It’s nice, but I’m in the boat that 25k should get you a ceremony at the Palace of Versailles lol. I was also looking at the menu they had on their website and it honestly didn’t sound that great even though they boast it as being “five star”. Honestly, I don’t blame you for going with something else!

I want to go to some of these weddings!! I’m having a 35k wedding and to me it’s crazy expencive! Yet just like you say, I’m not having unicorns or caviar, just a regular florida beach wedding. A unicorn would be sweet!
