@thewheelsonthebus: I think this is what weddings are all about and why they are so stressful. It’s easy to have things happen in everyday life and then replan them, but when it’s on that big special day it makes such a greater impact. Plus your wedding is only important for you, for everyone else it’s just a big expensive party. A member of my family offered to pay for our videographer and said they handled everything. Guess what I found out the day of, no videographer! You just have to move forward.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it’s can be rough when it’s immediately family causing the issues.

10 days ago my Maid/Matron of Honor (who was my best friend) told me that she probably wasn’t coming because her boyfriend couldn’t come. She then tried to guilt trip me into inviting him even though she’s known from the start that he wasn’t invited (not because we don’t like him, just several other reasons that are out of my control).

She then says that driving without him is impossible because she’s doesn’t have a navigator and reading from a piece of paper is too hard, then she says that the highway signs are always wrong and she can’t afford to get lost.

So I told her that I would meet her outside of Seattle (her real worry) and she could follow me through. Her response was “I’ll have to think about it.” We haven’t talked since that day.

Sorry you are going through this, that’s very disappointing.  It sounds like you had things nicely planned out, and some people have let you down.  I know what you mean though when you say the expenses can keep growing and growing….. I’m sure everything will come together for you – don’t worry 🙂
