I just wanted to say that I’m glad I’m not alone in the ‘fiance not knowing about the wedding band’ department. I totally thought he was kidding when he said “what do you mean ‘another ring?'” He gets it now, but I’m happy to hear that my man wasn’t the only one living under a rock! Heehee! ;D

My Fiance was totally confused about this to. We went to Kays and I felt so bad for him, looking at the astomishment in his eyes. He quietly asked me, “So not only is there the engagement ring, there’s a BAND????” and I had to explain the differance. Poor guy it was almost funny.
I just chop it up to most men just don’t care about jewelry and the band is not talked about as much as the engagement ring. My fiance would never on his own take notice that some married women tend to have two rings. NEVER. He would just possibly notice that she has a ring and assume that she’s married. The end.
Frankly, I think whatever the couple decides is their normal, is just that. There are tons of cultures that one ring (if any at all) is sufficent. Two rings aren’t necessary, unless you want them, and in the OP case, and mine, we do.
