I am wearing my mom’s dress too!!!!! We updated it too make it more modern, less 80’s. Here is me in it, I don’t have a picture of her in it from before.

@nutMeg13:  That’s absolutely beautiful! I *love* the back!

@twoblackcats:  Haha, awesome! It’s such a unique dress, compared to the same-old-strapless you see everywhere these days. What do you plan to do with it?

I’m wearing my mom’s gown too but I’m not altering it.  I like it the way it is.  I am however getting a newer veil for it and losing weight to make sure I still fit in it and can sit in it.

That’ll likely be the case for me. I love vintage gowns in general, and my current dream dress would be a 1950s prom dress., I would never wear my mother’s wedding dress, simply because it would never fit (I’m five inches taller than her, and at least 30 pounds heavier than her at my ideal weight), and because I don’t like it enough to alter it so drastically.

@Mrs Christopher:  Your dress is beautiful!  Have you thought of wearing a sash with the dress? Maybe with some bling?  I think that would really add to it Smile

@ArtDecoLisa:  Thank you! I have thought of that but it is so uber expensive that I’m not sure.  Plus I had to leave the dress in MA with mom so I can’t match it up from here.  But we’ll see as time goes on I may be able to save up for that and pick out a good match!

I’m also really excited for the veil. 🙂
