We are planning on getting married on a Holiday this December (Destination Wedding) … we are looking at December 24th / Christmas Eve (Daytime or Evening). Curious to know if anyone else has ever done this… a Holiday Wedding (either that particular Holiday, or another one). What were the PROS & CONS. Any feedback much appreciated. Thanks

Well, we’re marrying in our National Day so not exactly a Holiday season like you’re thinking. Only problem was that the following week there are a couple of Holidays and people usually take time off that time and go to the beach/abroad..BUT as we’re having a close-familly wedding, nobody even dreamt (as to my knowledge) of booking holidays for June 10th!

hey my wedding is on Good Friday this year. It worked well for us, we got a fantastic deal because we were out of the traditional wedding season, its a friday meaning we got weekday discount too! All the family are together for Easter, it gives everyone a great start to the holiday weekend and it lets my out of towners have the whole weekend with family if they choose. The only con i could think of is sharing your anniversary, but if you’re sharing it with Jesus you’re blessed!

We are getting married this New Years Eve, so far we have gotten great feedback from people excited to have something special to do.
I also sent my Save-The-Date Cards out in January so there was plenty of time for people to plan for it

We got married over Thanksgiving and you just have to be prepared that for some non-family members who are guests, they might prioritize family holiday traditions over a wedding. Though if you’re doing Destination Wedding, you’re probably prepared for a smaller turnout!
