So my Future Brother-In-Law has recently suggested that my Fiance and all the groomsmen order their suits from China online. He thinks they can get them for $50 a suit, rather than renting them. I’ve seen bee’s with dresses from China, but has anyone ever used one of those sites for their guys? For the record, I’m against the idea. I believe you get what you pay for, and they won’t be nice at all. Fiance says that even if we get them and they suck we’re only out $250 total, and we’ll still have time to go somewhere local and get a nice one. What do you bee’s think? Has anyone ever done this, and if you did are there any pictures you could share?

For $50/suit? Probably not a good suit at all, however I get that you’re buying them for one use, so they only have to look good one time. I suggest, if you have that price point, order the groom’s suit as a test case, then decide.
I would go to a sale at men’s wearhouse, or wait for one of the (virtually) constant sales at Jos. A Bank. Those are crappy suits too, but you can touch and feel them at MW, and JAB will have a better return policy than done place in China. In either case your still getting a made in China suit.
Is your Fiance determined to have identical suits?

If it’s too good to be true, it probalby is.
A few years back my SO worked with a well known tailor from HK. He actually met with him on his trips to the US for measurements, pattern and fabric choices, ect…
Welll, when the suit finally came it was total dog shit. The craftmanship and sewing was just very subpar. Also, he paid much, much more than $50/suit.
Lesson learned – you get what you pay for.
