Your ring is stunning!

I wish I could help you out, but I don’t know much about how to date rings.  I just wanted to pop in to tell you your ring is gorgeous.  🙂

This is my ring. My friend has her grandmother’s ring that looks almost exactly like me, except the setting is smaller & there is no stone now. Her’s is verified as being from the 1930’s. I believe the seller my FH bought my ring from also verified mine as 1930s.. It’s possible that if yours is from the 40s, it’s more likely early 40s. But the style is so similar, I’d venture to guess that your’s is a 30s ring as well.

Maybe you could find an antiques dealer in your area. Maybe even more specifically and antique jewelry dealer. It’s possible that your insurance company may know of one since they are certainly interested in proper appraisals.
