Your set is gorgeous!  But it’s combined width is very similar to my original ering.  I eventually had to break down and get something a little lighter for every day wear.  I grabbed this 3ct FB in the sale section of moissaniteco.com and I love love love it.

I feel like the prongs on a solitaire would be even more prominent.  Would you consider a bezel setting?

MrsHoneyC:  I have never had a problem with the height of the solitare at all.  But you should hear the sonic boom when I whack something with the original.  First world problems.  Hence, multiple sets πŸ™‚

Ah, I LOVE moissanite! Though, I am partial to OECs.

Your current set is beautiful, I hope you will still wear it on special occasions.

I think if you are worried about scratches and catching, and stuff getting stuck, you might want to look at a bezel setting or a non-typical prong setting. Moissanite & Co has a few lovely bezel settings, and you can also look at something like their tulip head setting:

Some of their bezels/half-bezels:

Here is my easygoing, very easy wearing bezel. 8mm Amora-enhanced OEC. No prongs and it does not snag on anything :). Ring was made by an Etsy vendor, but the stone was from Moissanite Co. Bezels really ARE ideal for easy, non-scratching, non-snagging, non-catching wear:

Here is my new vintage reproduction from Moissanite Co. This baby does have tiny prongs which do catch a bit of fluff now and then but it is quite low set so still also quite wearable (though looks substantial on the hand). 8mm unenhanced OEC:

On the right is my new 7.5mm unenhanced OEC in a true vintage platinum setting. I received it yesterday but this is the vendor’s photo as it is at the jeweler being resized. It is beautiful though, and might just become my favourite – the size is my sweet spot and the stone is lovely. This one does have fishtail prongs, so might catch a bit more than a bezel, but it is not scratchy as the prongs are smoothed out Moissanite & Co does have fishtail settings/prong options too:

This baby below is due to be here today or tomorrow. 8.5mm unenhanced OEC in Moissanite Co’s sol307 setting, yellow gold shank, white gold head. I expect due to size and setting this one might get knocked a bit more. I will probably reset it eventually. Again, vendor photos:

zombieseatpineapple:  just wanna say I love your ring!  So classy and beautiful. It’s pretty much exactly what I want. May I ask what stone size/band width/ring size?  Did you get it from moissaniteco?  Sorry if I’m being nosy haha

Here’s mine! (No idea why my photos are always sideways, so I apologize!) It’s a .75 carat moissanite from MoissaniteCo.com. It so far has held up flawlessly and hardly ever gets in my way.

Your set is GORG. I hope you don’t retire it completely!

Edit: Sorry that the photo is so huge! I resized it but it doesn’t seem to save once I post it!

I second a bezel if you like the look! Maybe get your sons birthstone instead of another clear ring!
