Hi!

I am probably too late to help you but I wanted to hopefully help other brides or men planning to propose from making the same mistake I did.

I bought from 25 karats last year. I had them create a custom setting for me that I was going to have the stone from my original engagement ring placed into. The correspondance with their customer service is great, they are very quick to respond. However the craftsmanship of their jewelry I feel is terrible.

I spent a few weeks working with them to get the ring designed how I wanted and created. The ring was made and sent to me. The very first night I had the ring I had 3 stones fall out from just wearing it around the house!!! I e-mailed them and they were of course ready to fix the problem. So before I even got to get the new stone set and wear the ring I had to send it back to them. So I get the ring back a few weeks later and take it to a local jeweler to have the center stone set. That was the only service that jeweler did, no resizing, nothing else.

Fast forward a few months I am wearing the ring and it breaks in 2 places and 3 more stones fall out. Just snapped off from the head of the ring and cracked in the rear of the band. I contact them and they first try to blame it on the jeweler I had used to set the stone saying he did a bad job resizing it….it was NEVER resized. Then they tell me it would cost me $750 to be recasted into a new ring. I said I do not feel as if I had to give them another dime of my money and that it was never resized. They then respond that I would have to send them the ring to be inspected and repaired. At this point I did not feel comfortable sending them the ring (which I had paid $2500 for plus which now included the 2 ct center stone, valued at $10k). I took the ring to a local jeweler to be repaired. Then a few months later the ring band snaps off at the other side of the head like it did before however it was the opposite side and not where it was repaired. I am ceratin it was the opposite side because you can see where the original repair was made. As well as 2 more stones fall out. This morning the same exact break was made on the rear of the ring but again on the opposite side. So 4 breaks and 5 stone fall out (not including the 3 that fell out the first night I had the ring) all within just over a year of having it.

At this point they said they can do nothing for me other than have me send it back. I dont know about you ladies but I do not feel comfortable sending it back, with the new diamond and have someone work on it who obviously does not know what they are doing.

I just wanted to share my story and hopefully have you avoid happen to you what happened to me. Save your money, sanity and time and buy from a reputable local jeweler who can repair your items without having to ship them in the mail if needed.

The photo below is of the original break.

As 25karats.com, we tried everything we possibly could do to help our customer. We asked Ms. German to send the ring back to us immediately so we can determine and fix any problem. She repeatedly rejected our offer and stopped the communication.
What we suspect happened is that, the original ring we had sent was resized by a local jeweler and that caused the side stones to loosen up and fall within a year and further repairs may have caused the ring to break.

We would have recast and remade the ring if Ms. German have sent the ring back to us initially. Our offer still stands, if she chooses to take. Our customers’ satisfaction is our number one priority and we stand 100% behind each product we manufacture.

Oouu maybe its too late but my engagement ring was from there.. Plus their service was amazingly good.  My fiance and I both got our wedding bands there, and the entire process could not have gone better.

My Fiance and I were both looking for bands that were simple, yet not boring.  We would like to have  the rings to have little bits of uniqueness without being too obtrusive or noticeable.  We had looked at several other places, even weddingbee and couldn’t find what we were looking for. I guess I found them from google while searching Smile

At the end we both bought this rings. The call assistant guy was so nice too, he checked if we get it via e-mail to double check our information and telling us when the rings were shipped. It made the entire process easy and carefree.  And most importantly, the rings look and fit amazingly.  We are thrilled at the end result!  I couldn’t recommend 25karats any more highly.

My ring is on attachment hope you will love it , the photo quality is not that good sorry i took it by iphone4s Embarassed

Hope this will help BrookBQ or someone who is looking for SmileInnocent

I am purchasing from 25karats and they asked for a copy of my drivers license for confirmation of address. Did they ask this of anyone else?

Yes. They did ask to me too. Bc we just moved to our new home. So my billing address and the billing address belongs to credit card that i used wasn’t matched. Due to the security resons they wanted to verfy our new billing address. Since the first payment was declined by the bank. Maybe something caused by same thing to you too. I think you can email them. They answer real quick. I got this info by emailing to their customer service. Hope it helps Smile
