I don’t really know what category to put this under….
I am half Chinese and I get soooo red if I drink just ONE drink. My Dad – tomato also. It has something to do with ur liver not having some enzyme to process the alcohol or something like that. Anyway, what the heck am I gonna do at my wedding??? I don’t want to be red in all the pics of the reception!! I’m sure I’ll be red right after the toast!! And I mean entire body red not just face, EVERYWHERE! UGH I hate it!! The only thing I can do is not drink, but that is SO NOT FAIR!!
Anybody else get red? Is there anything you can do besides not drink???

If you don’t want to turn red, you could always drink something without alcohol for the toast. Sparkling cider or the like.

I do – and I’ve realized that red wine is the worst. Something about sulfides?? I hadn’t really thoght about it for the wedding, so I’m not sure if I’ll worry about it or not.
I found THIS. I didn’t think of it before – but I was labeled by a Doctor a while back as being allergic to drugs with sulfa in them – hello. Lightbulb moment.

My girlfriend does!!! And sometimes Fiance does ( I think he is alergic to beer, but he doesn’t care!)

I’m also cursed with the Asian glow. Someone once suggested taking a Pepcid AC about a half hour before drinking to prevent the redness. My Fiance swears by it and I recently tried it and it really does work! If your eyes get red when you drink, the Pepcid AC won’t help that but it definitely works against the skin flushing!

My dad is a quarter Filipino and gets so red from drinking. I don’t really think there is an option besides not drinking. Maybe just sip something non-alcoholic for the toasts and then warn your photographer that reception shots of you should be in b&w? 🙂

I can’t wait to try this! I might have to make the Fiance take me out to night I’ve always wanted to try a margarita!

I do, I’m not asian either. Alcohol inflames mah body – so I only drink in the dark, or with people I know 😉

OMG i’m gonna try that Pepcid AC thing tomorrow for New Year’s Eve!!!My eyes don’t get that red but they get very glassy and become even more asian looking …lol
Yeah I find wine and champagne give the worst redness, beer isn’t too bad (takes 2 of those), and surprisingly tequila is not too bad either!!!!
@dorsay I try to only drink in the dark too hahahahaha. I would never drink in the daytime
@diorable lol i guess they might have to be b&w pics…i never thought of that hahahha

I would def. go with cider for the wedding! You could always have a glass of champagne with your new hubby when you leave the reception. 😉

It happens to my brother’s girlfriend who is Japanese. It’s definitely a sulfate thing. She swigs a bunch of Mylanta about 45 minutes prior to drinking. Works for her. Good luck!

A friend of mine takes milk of magnesia before a night of drinking.
