We are already married but we are traveling to see it! My dad is turning 65 the day before and said for his birthday he wanted us all to take a family trip to SC to experience it with him. So we are driving down from Baltimore for a mini vacation to make it happen. I think getting married on eclipse day is a cool idea!

That would be so cool! I hadn’t really thought about it, since I don’t live in the path, but if I did, I would have given it some serious consideration- how amazing and special that would be!

headoverboots :  Are you in Columbia? I am too! The eclipse is turning into quite a big deal around here. FI and I are going to the Eclipse Day thing at the State Museum. They have parking there so I won’t have to figure out parking on Gervais or some nonsense. Traffic is going to suck.

headoverboots :  Technically FH hasn’t “proposed” yet. My ring isn’t finished and we had to send my center stone back for replacement after a mishap with the setting process. So while we certainy aren’t getting married on eclipse day, I kinda hope he decides to propse then.

It’s passing through my hometown and the town my brother lives in Idaho. They are predicting an insane number of people coming into the state for the eclipse.

It would be cool for an elopement but if you had any out of town guests there’s no way they would be able to find a hotel.
