I went by myself to all my fittings. Just make sure you like it and the dress fits right.

The very last fitting, it’s better to go with a Bridesmaid or Best Man so that the seamstress can show them how to bustle. I had a 16pt bustle and it was hard to figure out!

I’m going by myself.

the seamstress reminded me to bring the shoes and undergarments I’ll be wearing on my wedding day.

I did… it was fine.  They bascially see how the dress looks on you and determine what alterations need to be done.

I would make sure they tell you exactly what each thing costs so you can decide if you want to do it or not.  They also decided what type of bustle to do at my first fitting – so if you aren’t 100% sure, tell them you want to think about it and will let them know.

If you aren’t ok with the costs, ask them if there is something else they can do to for a lower cost.

I was SHOCKED at how much my alterations cost (and it’s a running theme in the hive) – so, preprare for that too!

I went by myself to the first, I brought friends to the second, but I don’t really feel like I needed to. I just wanted to make sure I had more opinions in case there were any problems (there weren’t). And I had never tried my dress and jewelry on for anyone, so that was fun

I went by myself to both. I think having someone at the final fitting is helpful so she can show them how to do the bustle, but my seamstress just showed me once I took the dress off. I’ll show my mom how to do it when she gets here.
