Anyone going to Jamaica in August?? We’re going the end of August..hopefully there will not be any hurricane issue.. thinking of staying at Couples Swept Away or Couples Negril…which one did or will u be staying at? CSA is more but on 7 mile beach, while CN is on Bloody Bay side….i’m kind of being a bit picky, and my SO wants a better deal because it would be $1500 for just 4 nights AI….Any pros and cons would be great! so I can convince him!!

We are going to Couples Negril but in February. We’ve been there before. Couples Negril and Couples Swept Away are only a few resorts away from each other… We really loved being on Bloody Bay because the water was very calm and we could float on our floaties all day in the ocean. And it’s also quite a large stretch of beach itself in the bay.
As far as i know, both those resorts are alot more expensive during the winter season. We went in November last time, and it was still a decent price though, but come December the prices really get hiked.
Although both resorts have tons of inclusive activities, most the same, i think a few are different so you may want to look into that to help make up your mind
If you go to Couples website, they members there are VERY helpful and knowledgeable.

My best friend was married in August 2009 at the Grand Lido Resort in Negril. It was hot, but beautiful. We had one day of rain and it lasted maybe 2 hours before the sun came out and it was beautiful again. The Grand Lido is all-inclusive but it felt old. Beautiful property, beautiful beaches, but just…a little on the older side in terms of decor, etc.
The Couples resorts look amazing, but I would highly suggest using a website like http://www.tripadvisor.com before you book so you can get some honest feedback about which of the resorts are best.
OH – and by the way, pack LOTS of bugspray. Negril in August is buggy!

We went to Couples Tower Isle, but in April. We loved it 🙂 I agree on the bug spray comment, that and sunscreen! They have gift shops but that stuff is so expensive, we spent like $15 on 1 can of bug spray

We’re going to Jamaica for our honeymoon in August, but not Negril. We’re going to Montego Bay to stay at the Secrets St. James resort. We’re booking in the next week or so. It’s all-inclusive, beach-front, adults only. Jamaica looks so beautiful 🙂

One perk to Couples Negril is the Red Flag service. They give you a little red flag when you are on the beach or by the pool, and when you want a drink you just put the flag up and they come and take your order and bring you a drink. LOVED IT! hahaha. Swept Away might have this service as well, but i’m not sure. And they are fast too! it doesn’t take a long time.
