So me and my SO live in Italy, we met here, he is doing his MBA and should be finished in spring 2014. When he finishes we would like to move to the US and are trying to figure out the best way to do this.
Since he is legally resident here then maybe we would be eligible for a Direct Consular filing which only takes 3 months to process. So we could get married here in Rome (which we would prefer) and then moved to the US.
Anyone has done this?
Thanks again and good luck everyone with your visas! Feel welcome to share your experiences!

@strawbs: Yes! I’m looking up info and me and SO found the DCF and maybe it could be for us! we’re trying to get an appointment at the US embassy for more info.
Anyway how are you doing?
Preparing for christmas?

@walnutgirl: you could post on there and ask too 🙂 they’re very helpful there.
yeap. working. two holiday parties coming up. still christmas shopping – probably doing most of it this weekend. trying to figure out gifts this year has been agonizing.

@walnutgirl: not knowing what to get them is the issue, not the price lol

@strawbs: yes for some people it can be hard, with SO’sfamily we get away with sending typical italian things (wine, oil, cheeses, coffe) so that’s easy!
