Alright this is my hair September 2010…
And this is November 2011 (from our e-pics) & I was able to curl it finally!!!…
I hope that by July it will be really nice, but fighting the urge to cut it is hard. I always get bored with my hair & dye & cut it all the time. 😉

To everyone who has grown out their hair:
1) how often did you get it trimmed, and how much did you take off each time?
2) did any of you try using Biotin to speed up the growth, and did it work?
I have very fine, highlighted, shoulder length hair and want to grow it out (I’ve gotten sick of having it short) but the ends always seem to get damaged if i wait too long between trims!

I’ve been growing mine out since we began talking about getting engaged, since I know I won’t have the willpower otherwise. It’s so freaking long! I just wanna chop it all off!

- Wedding: May 2012 - Salvage One, Chicago
I’ve had my hair short for the last 6 yrs or so. Last October I did one final chop before grownig it out:
And this is today, I haven’t trimmed it at all yet:

Yep I’m growing mine out. It’s below my shoulders and I normally have it a tad longer. I really can’t wait until after the wedding to get it cut back a tad shorter. But at same time I kinda like and long while my Fiance LOVES it long!

I’ve been working hard!
And here I am now. 🙂 Hoping to hit my collarbone by next May. I can get it into a tiny baby ponytail.

My hair’s pretty long, you can see it reflected in the mirror in this photo. It’s just passed waist length.

I chopped off 6 inches after this photo was taken in July, and I hope it grows back by May!

@SFrunner: I only get a trim once it starts to feel tangly when I’m combing it out (3 or 4 times a year), and I usually trim off about a half an inch. With a full year, you can probably get a solid 5 inches of growth even after trimming to keep it healthy.
I’ve never used Biotin or anything like that, but I have fine, blonde hair and I have made sure to just take really good care of it. No blow drying, curly, flat ironing, etc. I braid it at night while I sleep so it doesn’t tangle up, and I have a satin pillowcase. I also give myself a scalp massage every morning before I shower and every night before I get ready for bed *the best is when I can convince Mr.ND to give me a scalp massage :-)* The massage is really key to get the blood flowing, and treating it well and keeping it protected from heat and wind/tangles really helps as well.

@indibee: Oooh, you’re blonde! I pictured you with dark hair (haha, sorry if that’s weird)!

@Juliepants: Haha, not weird at all. I always think it’s fun when people post their pics and they’re so not what I had imagined in my mind. Do you have dark hair? I totally pictured you as a blonde. LOL.
