@realtreegal:  Wow, 10 kids! You must be a busy family – how neat!

I’ve also had a tubal ligation and Fiance and I are considering whether we should TTC in the future. I researched tubal ligation reversals and really wanted to do it, although I’ve never known anyone who has had a reversal. If we TTC, I think we’ll try in vitro fertilization.

+1,000,000 on wanting to be that one in a million!

@realtreegal:  i haven’t personally had this procedure but I know a lady from church that had 2 little girls after a reversal so it can happen. Good luck I hope it works out for you.

One of my friends had her tubes tied to prevent  pregnancy, and she got pregnant twice after the procedure. the first time was 7 years after, the second was 15 years after.

A tubal reversal is really expensive and rarely covered by insurance, plus the odds of success at any given time are less than IVF, which is also quite expensive and rarely covered by insurance.  If you just want one more child, IVF is usually the cheaper and faster way to go.  If you might want multiple children, you could pursue a tubal reversal.  I’d make an appointment with a RE to discuss your options.  Good luck either way.

One of my vendors got pregnant after a tubal.  She had a hystorectomy after her daughter and now believes it should be elective surgery for all women over 30.  🙂

I had my reversal last month on August 23rd. I got AF the next day as was expected. We are almost at the end of our first cycle and I am testing negative. AF should be here today or tomorrow and we’ll start cycle 2.

Because of my age, I already anticipate a long wait and will probably start Clomid on the next cycle. If I do get a BFP anytime in the next few months, I’ll come back and update.

Oh and I did a lot of research on reversals before I had mine. We ended up driving from Atlanta to Cary, NC to NCCRM. I paid a little under $5000 out of pocket.
