Yeah I get it done. When I get my eyebrows wasxed, they are then threaded to tidy up, if you know what I mean. It can be painful and sometimes a sharp tickle kinda pain.

Yes, I love threading.  I think it does hurt more than waxing though.  At least with waxing, the wax is warm so your pores open up more making the hair easier to remove (and faster).  I prefer threading though because when I used to wax my eyebrows, it always made my face feel heavy after (if that makes any sense).  I would keep wiping my face because it felt like my eyebrows were being dragged down after the waxing was over.  Plus my face would be red for 2-3 hours after.  With threading about 20 minutes later and the redness was all gone.

@SoontobeMrsA:  take an advil or have a drink.  but seriuosly the “pain” is not really pain. it’s more like a mild discomfort.  just like plucking.

I love threading… used to get it done all the time when I lived up north… it is so much more precise and I wasn’t all red and irritated after.  Now I wax because there is not a threading place I have found nearby that I like.  I miss threading!

I get mine done and it lasts longer than waxing for me. And it doesn’t hurt…more of a burning sensation.

I love threading.  We’ve got little places all over Surrey and Vancouver where it is around $5 for the eyebrows and they are pros.  It has the same pain level of tweezing but doesn’t irritate the skin as much as waxing.

Just make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing.  One lady I tried actually cut my skin.

I know many girl get their sideburns, (stupid facial hair) eyebrows and the top of the lip done in under 10 minutes.

Most good one will also ask which shape you want.

Yes and I love it!  There is some slight pain, but like everyone said same as plucking or waxing.  I think the lines are much cleaner with threading.  Try it out!

I agree with most posters. I have had it done and it is just as painful as waxing and tweezing. It is a better cost and looks cleaner. I love it and highly recomend it.

I loooooove threading.  I waxed, and while threading still leaves me a little red (I mean, you are pulling hairs out by the root, after all), my skin’s reaction to threading is significantly less.  I get a lot less ingrown hairs, too!  Totally recommend it!

If you’re having pain with threading you’re probably not seeing someone who is skilled. I get my brows threaded ALL the time. I swear by it. I wouldn’t say its comfortable, but it should be MUCH more comfortable than waxing & tweezing. I’ve had less skilled people do my brows and it wasn’t comfortable.

Your best bet is to find an indian or arab salon in your area as they often employ women who have grown up with this method of brow care.

The restuls are SO much better than waxing or tweezing too.

Threading’s amazing! I currently tweeze my own (learned how to get the shape I want out of necessity when traveling), but I used to thread all the time.

I agree with PPs that you really want to find someone who knows what they’re doing. I’ve found East Indians to be the best (vs. Asian, Caucasian). Asians tend to favour really thin brows, and Caucasians just don’t have the knack for it (in my experience).

One word of caution: threading is more of an art than a science, so make sure you like their “eye”. A lot of places will post before/after photos, but even checking out the people walking out of their store should give you an idea of if you’ll like what they’ll do to your brows.

I use to get my eyebrows threaded all the time (where I live it also costs $4.00 to get it done).

Really, the pain is not bad, its quick and looks super clean.

side note – I read that we feel more pain the week prior to our period, so do it the week after you get it.
