Ring sizing seems to be such a PITA. I was certain I had a size 7 finger (not sure how I arrived at that number, never having tried one on), which is what my Fiance had made. Then once I had the ring, I realized it was way too big. We took it to be sized, and now I have a 6. However, I still think it’s a bit loose and that I should have a 5.5-5.75. I am just so afraid to make it smaller and then swell up. How do you decide how small to go before it’s too small????

Your rings are very pretty.
As for missizing, it happened to me. Kind of. Fiance ordered the band in the same size as my dating anniversary ring, but it was much larger than a 7. We took it in last summer to get resized and since fits fine. We didn’t have trouble with the wedding ring as I was there in person to pick it out. 😉

I guess this is fairly common, which makes me feel better. I think ring sizes can vary in the same way pants/dress sizes vary, which is frustrating. I would much prefer sizes were just (truly) set so one could order a 5 from here then another from there and it be the same.
@LillyLover: I’m not exactly sure how you decide what’s “too” small. I think it mainly depends on your preference. I could still wear (i.e. get it on and off) the 4.5, but I didn’t like struggling to get it over my knuckle. You may want to wear yours at the size it is now for a while and see if you still want to resize it after some adjustment time.

I got sized with a thin ring sizer but my ring was pretty thick, so when I got it, it was 1/2 size too small. Nobody thought to check for the style of my ring when they were sizing me.

We ordered mine in the correct size 7, and when I got it it was a 6. Well, they stretched it to fit, but overcorrected a bit, and it’s a tad looser than I would like. I’m not gonna have them try to correct it again though. I just have to be aware of it. Maybe when I have my band soddered to the e ring they’ll figure it out.

Mine are always sized too big. The e-ring they had to go a size down and then add sizing balls to keep it from spinning because it’s top heavy. The wedding band they ordered a smaller size but for some reason it was made in a larger size. It is now being made smaller.
