Bees, I’m posting for a friend. I love her to death, she is the most amazing person I knowa d she is absolutely stunning in my opinion. However she is obese, I don’t know how much or if at this moment she falls under the category of morbidly obese, I know she used to. She has been overweight her entire life and she started doing something about it when she was 12. It was ineffective until she turned 16 and realized sha had a variety of metabolic problems. She started going to a special doctor.
Since then she has lost about 80lbs, she had a baloon put into her stomach (which is right around when I met her) and she lost about 40 lbs with that. She took a semester off from school to work on her weight because she had stalled for about a year and she was diagnosed as a prediabetic.
It didnt work, it has actually gotten worse, not weight wise, but health wise, her lipids are through the roof (actually got worse this semester) and even if she’s lost some weight it has been minimal compared to the amount of diet and excercise she’s doing. Bees, I’ve seen her eat, she eats healthier and does more excercise than me! And I’m 5’2 110lbs, to give you an idea she’s around 4’10 and she wants to get down to (she’s told me) around 150lbs, I dont know at what weight she is now or how much she originally weighed.
At her last doctors appointment they told her that she will probably have to go on insulin soon. She is done with it, she is tired and frustrated and she wants to get her stomach stapled. So bees, have any of you had this done? How did the procedure go for you guys? Are you happy you went through with it? What precautions did you take post op and pre op? How did you deal with the extra skin? Was there a lot of extra skin?
I don’t know much about this, I’m just trying to help my friend, she hasn’t gone in to see the doctor about this yet, she decided around two weeks ago and the surgery won’t be performed until the end of this year. Any advice for her until then? And when she gets the surgery and until then, what can I do to be supportive or help?
Thanks for reading bees 🙂
