Whoever designed our master bath…apparently needed no storage. I bought towel bars to put up, and the toilet paper holder has fallen off the wall (or more accurately, one side has. It needs plaster and then moving it. I can’t seem to figure out the studfinder and have never used a power drill. Anyone have any tips?

How about a stand alone toilet paper holder? We have one, and we like it.

Did you use wall anchors? With plaster walls, screws will just pull the plaster out unless you use something like one of these guys. (Link goes to a how to about using wall anchors.)
For a power drill, make sure you have a lot of leverage. I am frequently not strong enough to drill into our plaster walls since most of what we hung was above my head and I just couldn’t get the right angle.

Yup, in our plaster-walled house, my hubby has become the king of wall anchors. You can’t hang something without them.
