Anyone have a modestly-sized stone in an 8-prong setting?

I have an 8 prong transitional cut solitaire that is 1.4 ct, but it’s 7.1mm – so pretty close to a 1.25 ct face-up size.  I was worried about the prongs looking crowded as well, but I think it turned out fine.

Mine is just a smidge under 1.5ct, but it’s an OEC, so the diameter is just over 7mm. Setting is the 8-prong Abby by CvB Inspired Design.

m0thlight :  Personaly, I don’t think I’d want 8 prongs for anything less than a 6.75 mm stone because I think that’s when it would border on being ‘too much’ for the stone. 7mm (IMO) is perfect and if you have fine/delicate claw prongs like CvB does, they really kind of disappear in the top-down view. So I’d definitely consider her price premium (or another comparable well-skilled bench) well worth the cost to end up with a look that is visually pleasing in that regard.

m0thlight :  I got mine from Ivy and Rose and it was very budget friendly, but if I had a larger budget I’d definitely go with CvB. I’m saving my pennies for one of her settings!

TheMotherThing :  I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your ring! I drool over it whenever I see it!
