Did anyone have a bridesman (or other variation of this name) in their wedding party?
I am having my best male friend as a bridesman. I am wondering about attire: would you have him wear the exact same thing as the groomsmen? something a bit different?
Let me know how you did it!

Slightly different, but my husband’s best “man” was a woman. She wore a similar dress to my Maid/Matron of Honor. Same fabric and style, but hers was long and had straps, while Maid/Matron of Honor wore short and strapless.
I think with a bridesman, I’d go a similar route, maybe the same style suit as the groomsmen but with a different shirt/waistcoat/buttonhole? Are the groomsmen wearing any of the same colour as the bridesmaids? If not, he could have the same suit but with his accents in the bridesmaid colours or fabric, maybe?

My brothers were in my bridal party. They wore tuxes the same as the groom and bestman. But our wedding was black tie so all the men were in tuxes. I’ve seen bridesmen wear a color variation of the other bridal party which looks really good in pics.

I had two bridesmen (and two bridesmaids) – they just wore the same thing as the groomsmen to keep it simple. All the men wore ties that matched the women’s dresses anyway (DH also had a mixed-gender party).

Not exactly the same, but I’ve been a “groomswoman.” The “best man” was also a woman. We wore the same style dresses as the bridesmaids, just a darker shade of blue.

I have a best man and my fiance has a best woman, and those are the only two people we have standing up with us. My best man is wearing a gray suit (fiance’s suit is black), with a tie that kind of coordinates with the best woman’s dress.
If we had more people on each side, I would have probably had the bridesman’s suit be a little different (lighter color, different color shirt, etc) from the groomsmen on the other side, and more coordinated with bridesmaids, just so he would stand out a bit as part of the bridesmaid side, if that makes sense.

I did! I let him choose his own honorary title and he came up with “Man of Honor.” He wore the same thing as the groomsmen and actually got to pick it out for all of them (none of the other groomsmen or my husband cared much about what they wore and he did so it worked out nicely).

maritabee33 : I did! My best friend was my man of honour. I had him wear something a little different than the groomsmen, he groomsmen wore black suits, and ties, but a red pocket square whereas my man of honour wore red vest under the black suit, red tie, and red pocket square. He also had a boutonniere whereas no one on the groom’s side did. It looked really nice, and differentiated him as part of my crew. It was important to have my 2 best friends as my maid and man of honour, so definitely do it! My bestie was so happy he was in the bridal party, and it made everything so happy and fun!

I had a man of honor instead of maid. He wore the inverted colors of the groomsmen. Groomsmen were in blue suits with grey vests so he had a grey suit with blue vest which also worked with the color scheme of the rest of my bridal party.
