Hard to answer because “small budget” is so subjective. We are having 40 people and our budget for the ceremony and reception (not counting photographer, dress, flowers, etc) is around 5500. I live in the midwest so around here that budget isn’t terribly small but for people on the coasts it would be miniscule. As long as you have what you like and you’re happy then that is all that matters!

Yeah idk what you mean by “small” budget but ours is pretty conservative at 10k and will have 150 guests. it’s beem pretty tough to find ways to cut back cost but we are managing right now. We live in California and I’d consider it pretty small for our area.

Dainty.doll.13:  I’m in St Louis and the cost of living here is unbelievably low, lol. Our budget can easily get you a nice venue with good food and open bar. I’d be outraged at paying 6-7K just for a venue for 40 ppl.  So much depends on where you live. I think your venue looks great!!

Your venue is so pretty! Congrats on an incredible find!!! I had a smallish budget, did a lot of DIY projects, and was very wise in most of my spending and everything turned out great! I am very proud that my parents or my husbands family didnt pay for my wedding- it made me appreciate the day so much more ๐Ÿ™‚ And small weddings are so much more intimate and romantic!

My wedding cost less than 2k! We were budget budgeters!! The left over money from the wedding went to a brand new pair of shoooooes! It was a honeymoon gift from Darling Husband. He is the sweetest.

I am trying to keep mine around 8k.. People on this site are so mean about low budget brides too. Saying things like you get what you pay for.

still in the early stages of figuring it all out (our families havent told us what they’ll chip in for yet so we are trying to get stuff sorted while aiming as low as possible) but I just wanted to jump in here and show some solidarity with you low budget brides!

Me and my lady are not rich in anything but love, and that is the one resource that will make our wedding day (and the rest of our lives together) magical, not how much we spend on stuff.

Don’t get me wrong, of course I would want us both to have awesome hot frocks, a beautiful location decorated perfectly & feast on a bounty of  delicious food with our loved ones, but honestly if we end up having to Say ‘I do’ dressed in sackcloth standing barefoot in a ditch after which our guests crowd into a public toilet to toast us over a single shared can of Special Brew, it will still be the most beautiful and important and gloriously love-filled day.
