Does anyone have a sterling silver ring with no bling? Better yet, do you have a custom designed ring with no bling?
I don’t have an egagment ring (cultural + financial reasons). I have two sterling silver rings I wear every day. One is a knot ring I wear on my right hand, and the other is this one. Because of the design it only feels comfortable on my left ring finger. Even though I only paid $15 for it six years ago, I am having a hard time giving it up for pain wedding band.
What are your thoughts on having a wedding band designed similar to this?
I have no idea what the colored little squares are. I think they might be some type of shell or synthetic material.

I’ve never seen anything like your ring. I think whatever ring you and your fiance choose and are happy with, is the perfect ring!
I have a friend who wears a plain silver band and she’s happy with it! They also make a lot of money and can afford any size/style of ring but she doesn’t care, and I think that’s awesome!

@blayne7:Why can’t that be your wedding band?

The only issue with a silver ring is that it will need polishing, which a more traditional wedding ring would not. However, it is entirely up to you. My wife and I skipped engagement rings, and just had plain yellow gold wedding bands.

I have a sterling silver wedding band! 70 days until I get to wear it!

I love silver, I’d just be afraid it’s too soft for a “forever” ring…

I have to agree that it probably won’t hold up well. I have broken so many sterling silver rings.

Sterling silver is cool but I personally wouldn’t want to polish it often. (Actually I have a few of them and wear at least one daily and I don’t like polishing them.) For a wedding band I would want something more precious than the $15 rings I knock around in. How about you get a gold (white or yellow) band custom made similar to the ring you have now that you love? That way you wouldn’t have to polish or worry about it breaking.

I would love for it to be my wedding band, but it doesn’t feel right using a ring that doesn’t include my Fiance. I don’t know if that makes sense. He’s not picking out my ring. I show him what I like and ask his opinion. He just says, “We’ll get whatever you want, babe.” It feels like I should have a new ring to symbolize my new life with him.
@2ndtime: and @MrsSaltWaterTaffy:
That’s interesting that you say that because I haven’t had those issues. I broke a ring that was really thin wire, but the ring that’s pictured and my knot ring have both been great with every day wear. I had to polish them one time after I wore them while I was washing something with bleach, but that’s the only they were tarnished.
Thanks for including your Etsy seller with the picture. I appreciate that. I’ve been looking at Etsy a lot this week, and I’ll have to check out the shop where you got your ring. 🙂
