I got a copy of the venue floorplan and made my own.  That way, it was fully customizeable.  We used color-coded post-it notes for the guests (one color for his family, one for mine, one for friends, coworkers, etc) and had fun moving them around versus using one on the computer.

The knot has an awesome one!  Once you enter in all of your guests names, it pairs them, so you can’t seat a person who is part of a couple without the other half.  You can also enter in all of your meals that way too if you’re doing a plated dinner with options, and then export it into excel.

@Mint2Bee:  My mom is using paper plates to represent each table, then cutting out each guests name from an Excel template I made.  I’m actually using AutoCAD with a floorplan my venue gave me, and adding guests as my mom seats them on her plates.
