My SO is not trans exactly, they’re  gender neutral but they consider themselves under the trans umbrella because how hard they try to appear androgenous. However I have very close friends who are FTM who are looking to get married soon actually.

I’ve never been with someone who is stealth but the idea was always daunting/scary. It’s a big secret  to keep, that has to be kept forever. I can’t fathom doing it for a lifetime. IDK if it interests you, but there are websites for trans folk and the ppl that love them. I would think being a member of such a community would be comforting b/c you could be open about all aspects, even when the conversation is about something trivial. All my best.

My sister is in a relationship with someone who very recently started transitioning to male. She’s bi but she’s pretty much only had boyfriends. My dad is a douchebag about stuff like that so she’s never said anything to him but she’s brought her girlfriend around (when she was still identifying as female), and it’s kind of obvious they’re together but my dad just doesn’t say anything about it. I don’t know what’s going to happen when it becomes obvious that her “friend” is changing genders. My parents are divorced and my father is remarried with 2 more kids. My mom seems to think that if my sister verbally comes out to him that he will gradually shut her out of his life.

I feel bad because my sister was always a daddy’s girl when we were kids. My father has been openly thrilled about my engagement (which is not normal for him; he’s usually pretty reserved) and she can’t even really say anything about her love life. It must be so shitty for her.

savannahb:  I’m in pretty much the same situation as you. My fiance is ftm and totally stealth. Most of his friends/family know since they knew him prior or during transition but his co-workers and most of my friends and family don’t know. I have a couple of close girlfriends who know and my mom and that’s it. Feel free to message me and we can chat on facebook if you want to talk 🙂

I do too!  Mine is transitioning as we speak, so we get ma’am or sir, depending on the person and where we are.  My family and all of our friends use male gender pronouns, though, and always have (we’ve been togoether 5 years.)  I’m up for chatting too if you’re ever interested!
