So there was another thread on this recently (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/wedding-rings-matching-the-e-ring) and unfortunately it doesn’t look like there are a lot of euro shank bees out there! What kind of band are you looking for? My e ring is Euro shank and from A. Jaffe so I know he has a whole bunch of diamond euro shank bands, if that’s what you’re looking for. Have you tried a normal wedding band on with your ering though? I personally can’t really feel the difference and I might wind up with a normal shank band if there’s something I like better. Hope that helps, good luck!

ETA: here’s an example of one of the A. Jaffe bands… http://www.ajaffe.com/details.php?id=505

Is this a European shank ring? It’s flat on the inside.

@mightywombat:

No, european shanks are flat on the bottom, like this

@GoldfishPie: Oooh, gotcha!! Thanks for clarifying; I wasn’t sure what it meant.

I don’t know what kind of wedding band you have your heart set on, but it probably won’t be that much more to get the european shank added custom.

My engagement ring is from Jared’s.  I really wanted the european shank, so they added it to the setting I liked, and it only added like $250-$300 to the total price, and that included getting it sized for me (big fingers!).

Hi. Im not engaged yet but my bf already purchased my ring which has a Euro shank. Ive noticed that even a lot of the designers that have euro shank engagement rings don’t have the wedding rings to match. We looked around and found a local jeweler that will take my e-ring and make a band to match it for pretty cheap. So you might want to just go to a few local places because they are usually a bit cheaper since it doesnt come with the big name.

I’m having the same problem. =(   And after spending a small fortune on my e-ring, we’re hoping to keep my band simple and cheap (around the $300 MissIntent mentioned it costs to convert one)… fat chance with that I guess…

@smb4268- on a side note, I’m in LOVE with your avatar photo! I want to see it bigger!!  =D

I have a Euro shank e-ring but I’ll probably get a right hand wedding band… so I guess I’m no help at all!  I heard you can use a “regular” band but I don’t know personally.  I love my Euro shank Tongue out

Maybe I am being thick, but… why do you need them to match on the bottom? I would think that as long as the top part that everyone sees sits right the bottom shouldn’t matter much.

@FutureMrsBPB:I have an A. Jaffe e-ring with the European shank and it actually did have to be custom made because of my small fingers so I guess it’s not that uncommon. But good luck on the ring you really want! I hope it works out for you! I know how tough it is to find a matching band, mine is a european shank, and a split shank setting to boot!

I have a euro Engagement Ring and am pairing it with my grandma’s original wedding band, which is round.  I’m pretty OCD as well but it doesn’t seem to bother me.  I am also soldering mine together, which should also make it less of a big deal.

@MissLilac:  for me, I’ve noticed that I don’t get blisters and/or calluses (not sure if I spelled that right) on my hand as bad with the Euro shank.  I know I should just take my rings off when doing stuff, but a lot of times I don’t think about it.  =(
