If you need to use it youll be more scared of your throat clossing and not being able to breath anymore. Fiance has one for his bee allergy and I carry it everywhere. If you want more practise with one you can buy a practise one for something like 10-15$. Also once its expired Ive heard of people practising in big oranges. Just keep in mind what you need this for and that you are going strait to the hospital anyways.

Fiance  says you wont even feel it when you use it. Hes in medical rescues and this is his professional opinion.

We have an Epi-pen for my son. You should not be scared of it! The pen buys you time to get to the hospital in a worst-case senario. Just make sure to store it correctly and read the directions carefully.

I agree with the PP.  I know the idea of using it is scary, but the feeling of not being able to breathe would be scarier and I think you would just do it w/o thinking about it that much in the moment

I’ve had to use my epi-pen 2xs. Once, I used it on myself and another time someone else had to use it on me. I can honestly say, I don’t remember the actual shot at all. I’m such a baby when it comes to pain, but if you really need the epi-pen, you’re body will be experiencing so many things, that the shot kinda just blends in, I guess.

I have one and thankfully have never had to use one, on myself or a student.

I feel so bad, but I don’t remember if it hurt at all! I have an Epi Pen, and honestly I think I have one about to expire (I carry one in my purse and we have one at home) and could try it out maybe? My dr suggested to carry 2 Benadryl adn take those first. however, teh first time I used the Epi Pen, I was so freaked out I forgot about the Benadryl. I think it hurt more from pressing the plastic portion than teh needle. The needle is small and I think I’d remember if it was burning. Honestly I was so freaked out I don’t remember a whole lot. Sorry 🙁
