This question was inspired by the previous Goodwill post–and by my experiences today!
There was a garage sale down the street from us, and it turned out that one of the girls holding it had just gotten married and was selling off a lot of her supplies! Unfortunately she didn’t have my colours, but I did get a pile of really pretty glass vases, and a new package of bubbles, for $2 altogether! We lucked upon another sale today when we went to visit a friend and his neighbour was also having a garage sale–$1.00 for 5 strands of white lights in perfect condition. (They also had a pretty pen holder for 10 cents and a cake cutting set for 3.00, but they wouldn’t have worked for our decor.) I don’t know why, but I never considered that garage sales could be a great source for wedding bargains.
Have any of you found some great garage sale wedding bargains so far this summer?

Milk glass! I am not a milk glass bride, though I just saw a garage sale today with 4 or 5 vases. Garage sales would be great resources for brides interested in that.

I LOVE garage sales! I went to one about a month ago…it was advertised on Craigslist so there was a mob outside the house before they even opened. Anyways, it was suppose to start @8 a.m. but the garage remained closed even when it was 15 after. I started to become super annoyed and told my Fiance that if they didn’t open within the next 5 min, we were leaving. The 5 min came and went and still nothing. Something told me to just wait a lil more so I said to myself, 2 more min but that is it!!! Thank God I waited! This was the most AWESOME sale ever! The girl having the sale was getting married in 2 months and moving to Texas with her Fiance so she was selling 90% of everything in her place. She was also a Premier Designs vendor so she had TONS of gorgeous jewelry and was selling everything DIRT cheap. I got all of the jewelry that I am going to wear for my wedding and got all the BM’s their jewelry too! The retail price on everything was about $1,500 and she gave it all to me for only $125! Of course I also got some other great stuff as she had good taste, not only in home decor, but in fashion too. (too bad she had a small foot because she had some Jimmy Choo’s for only $50! They were in the original box and had the price sticker of $850…they were gorgeous, ivory adorned with swarovski crystals….I hate that my feet are size “AVATAR” lol..) Sorry for all the rambling but I got so excited all over again.
