I have a snake! But I don’t usually post photos because they freak people out. He’s a 6 yr old California kingsnake and he’s my buddy!

I had ferrets when I was in college.  I loved those little rascals!  I don’t have any pics though, as they’ve all long since passed ๐Ÿ™

@weddingbound:  Snakes make great pets simply because they are seriously the easiest pets in the world to take care of! He only eats 1-2 times a week and as long as he has fresh water and a clean cage he’s good to go. Way easier than my cat! ๐Ÿ˜›

She is technically DH’s but we have a Chinchilla. Darling Husband got her about 13 years ago. I “adopted” her for a little over a year after I moved accross state and Darling Husband (FI at the time) was going to grad school so I took her with me since his parents just feed her and thats it, no play time.

I think my exposure with exotic animals mades the majoirty of pets not unique anymore, but here we go.

Growing up we had prairie dogs, several of them. I’d say it’s like owning a ferret..

Over the past 8 years I’ve owned numerous species of lizards, but I guess the most unique was the savannah monitor, who I eventually rehomed when he got to about 2 feet long. I still have a few bearded dragons and leopard geckos, but it’s a small collection compared to 3 years ago when I had over 20.

I’ve owned crested geckos, tokay geckos, leopard geckos, viper geckos, anoles, and some other small lizards I can’t think of right now. I’ve dealt with my share of snakes and large lizards (tegu’s, iguanas, etc) as well.

@weddingbound:  yes they take dust baths. It is so cute to watch. She’ll roll around in it a few times sneeze rub her nose and scratch the dust and roll around some more.

@StevieJo:  I’ve always wanted one but I don’t know it I can handle the commitment with how long they live. They are so beautiful and smart though.
