I have known GERD, was on meds for quite awhile but had been controlling it by not eating trigger foods. However, the past year I stopped paying attention to it. Welp, 4 days of tomato soup in a row was a bad idea.
I start getting sharp chest pains 3 days ago. It got worse today. I am a nurse and work in an office. One doc I work with guessed pleurisy but then saw me later in the day and we finally pieced it all together. I’m having esophageal spasms for the first time in years. Ugh. And BAD. Like pulsing sharp chest pain bad. She gave me some nasty maalox.
Anywho, does anyone else deal with these? Any suggestions on good bland meals?

@Jw1724: My aunt has actually suffered with this for years. She had several treatments and was put on many different medications all resulting in little to no relief.
However, she recently was told to drink hot tea (decaf/herbal) with each meal and guess what, it works! She sips the hot tea throughout the meal and after the meal allows herself about 10-15 minutes for everything to settle before getting up. She has gone two months without any incident.
As for trigger foods she was told to avoid anything spicy, acidic or dairy (only in small amounts).
I hope you can find some relief!

@Jw1724: My Fiance used to get those when we started dating, but he controlled them through diet and he hasn’t had to worry about them for a long time 🙁 I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, but I remember how miserable they were, so I hope you feel better soon!
