Meteorites are made of iron, so unless they are coated with epoxy or plated, they rust.

I know Rings by Johan on etsy sells them with some kind of coating. We have wood ones from him and so far so good

We were looking at one for my husband before we got married, but after doing some reading people talked about it being very fragile. One guy said his cracked after grabbing a stair railing!

We decided to go a different route

We have a ring that was made by Jewelry by Johan on Etsy and it turned out beautifully. It hasn’t been worn yet as the wedding isn’t until October, so I can’t comment on durability. It came with a coating on it and you can also purchase waterproofing spray (although I recommend purchasing it from a regular retailer). We went with meteorite, cobaltium mokume, and dinosaur bone. The ring was custom designed and my fiancé can’t wait to wear it. As he’s rough on his hands and can’t wear jewelry for work, I’ll also be purchasing a QALO ring for him for everyday wear and the titanium ring will be for special occasions.

How do you get dinosaur bone put into a ring? I was not aware that dinosaur bones could be purchased.
