I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids earlier this year, and I’m feeling sad for myself right now. Lately I’ve been (tmi) bleeding 3 out of 4 weeks, (WITH a Mirena IUD which keeps my periods from being out of hand), having major cramps and low back pain too… My fibroids aren’t crazy huge, but they are bothersome enough that I am meeting with a surgeon next month. The largest is subserosal, 6cm and is located on the front of my uterus (i can feel it easily by pressing down on my stomach), and the other two are intramural, 3cm and 4cm, and are on the back of my uterus (probably the cause of my backpain).
Does anyone else have fibroids? Anybody have had a myomectomy? Anyone wanna cry about the cramping and feel sorry for ourselves with me?

I was diagnosed with 2 fibroids 2 years ago but that is as far as i have gotten. I know they are each around 1.5-2cms. I was diagnosed with them at 26 while investing why i was in extreme pain in some sex positions. I assumed children were FAR in the future so the doctor and i left it as a bridge to cross if we get there. At 29 I am in the position to plan another baby and am seeing my OBGYN tomorrow to review my pelvic pain situation and discuss TTC
I had a healthy pregnancy at 24 and a 2nd pregnancy ending in stillbirth at 25 and no fibroids were seen on my uterus then. Luckily i have seen the same OBGYN since 2007 and hes excellent so he has a complete picture of my situation.

Girl, I feel your pain. I had very heavy bleeding , horrible cramps that seemed to be getting worse and worse ( bleeding went from 4 days to 7,cycles jumped from every 28 days to 24-30 days) . I was diagnosed with 3 fibroids this year. 1 sub mucosal, 1 intermural , and the other I can’t remember. Due to the fact that I was ttc with no success, my OB suggested I just remove the submucosal fibroid and leave the others. She did present me with the option of removing all 3 but then i wouldn’t be able to start trying for 1year +. after research i decided to have a hystersopy/ myectomy . I was glad I did. Turned out the sub mucosal fibroid was between my fallopian tubes and larger then expected. the surgery was suppose to be 1 hr, it took a lot longer. IThe periods after my surgery were horrible.. But I’ve read that usually they lighten up afterwards. I got pregnant after 3 cycles, so I’m not sure about that.
I’m 14 weeks pregnant and I’ve got 2 fibroids still which suck but haven’t been given me too much problems. I may need a c section if they grow but my OB don’t seem to be excessively worried at this point. I always ask the tech if I’m the worst theyve seen, and their like honey please, definitely seen worse.
My friend had fibroids, opted to naturally shrink ( drinking some herbal teas) then but got pregnant in the midst of that process. Hers grew with the baby ( she was huge for 3 months) . she was pretty much on bed rest most of her pregnancy. Delivered a healthy baby in March via c section and bonus got her fibroids removed too.
Fibroids suck but definitely explore all your options. good luck.
