I have a halo ring with stones in the shank as well, 6 actually and after I got it resized, they are hurting my fingers. feel slike scratching constantly. i HATE it. so much I am considering taking 2-3 stones of each side so its only 3 down then my fingers would sit on the smooth.
anyone have this? did you fix it? not sure how hard it would be to take em out and just buff the sides down. knowing what I do now, I would have made my ring a custom and saved the few hundred bucks for less stones!! going to cost me more in repairs :/

@sillyquirky: I once bought a band with pave’ stones and I hated it for that reason! I really don’t like pave’ because it’s just uncomfortable. Hopefully they don’t charge much to fix that because I’m sure it will solve your problems.

is it the right size? i have several rings with pave settings just like yours, and they only hurt when they were too big.

When I had my ring resized I realized that one side did hurt, but when I flipped my ring around it doesn’t bother me at all. So now my ring has a front and a back! But Ican only tell while wearing, cannot see it on the ring. If it hurts you should look into getting that fixed.

Your ring looks *exactly* like mine from the side, crazy!
The side stones don’t bother me, but I didn’t get mine resized. I can feel the side stones sometimes but they don’t hurt. I imagine the band might need more metal added if you have a jeweler remove the side stones, but wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Is it possible that the pave stones became slightly loose from resizing? I think that’s one of the risks of resizing pave rings. I would take it back to the jeweler just to check the integrity of the pave, if it’s scratchy because it’s loose they can hopefully fix that!

You will get used to it. It took me about a mth maybe 2, and with the second one it took about a week.

i think I have been wearing it 3-4 weeks now. and I just had ti sized down a bit. since it has the side stones, the made my ring more egg shape to not compromise the setting. it actually helped with spinning but yes the sides stick out a bit more. from what I can see, if they pop the stones out, I think they just buff that tad bit of gold off where it was held and it will align with the existing gold perfectly. it just seems like 2 bumps are added onto the gold to hold stone in.
so yeah, if I can get it done for a tiny bit $$ and save the stones for eventual lost ones, I should be good. all day today i felt that icky scratching. so annoying. it feels like I have cuts but I dont.
here in this pic (before sizing) you can see the “nubs” that stick out easily.

Mine initial caused me slight irritation for 3-4 days. Now it doesn’t bother me at all
