I dyed my hair black when I was college. The only way I got it out (other than growing it out.. I have SUPER SLOW growing hair) was to get it stripped. But that was costly/time consuming and did some major damage to my hair. If you can, I’d say stick with growing it out. Good luck! 🙂

Go to a beauty supply and buy an extra strength color remover.  Folow instructions on the box, then try using a clarifying shampoo and wash several times–you may need a deep condition after if you wash a lot–and then follow with a semi permanent color to balance out the tones so it’s not so red.  (Like a an ashy or neutral medium brown).

if you haven’t gone over the black too many times, you should get a dark brown with a reddish tone.  You may have to do it a few times, but don’t just go right for a bleach job bc it will cost you your hair!

I usually go dark, last year went black, in the winter and then go lighter for summer. Well, I was super nervous about going from black to, I now wanted, light blonde. But I payed the extra money to do it the right way, and it looks great. They used a color remover, my hair was orange (I flipped) but they quickly reminded me that it had to happen or my hair would fall out. Then monthly highlights and I am where I want to be. Just be patient and do it the right way.
