I had mine sautered together because I have the curved wedding band so it really looks like one ring. It’s totally up to you whether you have one or two. Some people just wear the wedding band anyways!

LOL at all of the votes for puppies
The truth is, there is no right or wrong answer here. You will have to decide what is right for you. Eternity rings are gorgeous though. I can’t wait to have one as an anniversary gift.
I am getting two rings, but until I started being of the age that people around me were married, I didn’t know that was a thing. My mother and aunts only ever wore their wedding bands. I never understood why someone would get an engagement ring, only wear it for a short period and replace it with something else. It makes way more sense now that I know they go together.
But yes, I see nothing wrong with one ring. Culturally, if you have a ring on your left ring finger, it means you are married or about to be. Normally people aren’t going to be counting rings.
I wonder what the OP ended up doing? I currently have one ring and regret it. People ask me all the time if I’m engaged, meanwhile I’ve been married 3 years. I’m actually getting a new e-ring setting and wedding band any day now. The reason I am wearing only one ring is because a wedding band doesn’t go with it and I realized over time that I really want to have a distinct wedding band and e-ring.
I also decided to go with one ring and chose a wedding band. It was the best decision for me and I’ve never regretted it!
I think it’s more important to have a wedding band than an engagement ring. So if you only want one, I like your plan of the eternity wedding band.
I am thinking about having just my engagement ring. Mine has side stones to it though. Here is my logic: I want to get a really nice diamond band to wear with my e-ring. However, we have a wedding to take care of right now and I don’t want to just buy a simple ring that I don’t love. So, may be my Fiance will get me the one I want on our 1st year aniversary.
@BlondeMissMolly: I wish I only had one ring 🙁 Well, two really: a pretty blingy wedding ring with lots of details and sparkle, and a plain band for occassions that call for being less flashy. And no e-ring.
I have a big 3-stone emerald cut ring that I think I will just wear alone. Honestly, no wedding band does it justice and it looks so amazing alone! I might just wear a band on my right hang because I want to have one 🙂
I did two rings. But I did thin bands for both. Love my ring 🙂
