I haven’t worn it much as I only got it a couple months ago, but I have heard they are a softer gemstone.  However, many people who have worn peridot rings for many years have said they haven’t had any problems.  Here’s a pic of my peridot beauty!

Nope, but i have a fab peridot RHR. It’s my birthstone and I love it. Such a fab, unusual stone!

Should’ve said – I’ve had it since 2007/2008 – no problems with it at all.

I had peridot side stones on my engagement ring.  Whill they look gorgeous they didnt hold up to everyday life. After three months of continuous wear they stones were already cloudy and scratched.  I my ring is currently getting reset into something that will hold up a little better. Heres a pick of my old set.

booEXcore: I love gemstone engagement rings. If you want colour, go for it. I also love the green of peridot. How well has your first ring held up?

We were looking at morganite, tourmaline and even rutilated quartz with our jeweller before I decided on sapphire for its hardness and huge range of colours. Tourmaline is only a little harder than peridot and quartz varies alot. She insisted that they would be fine if set right. The right setting could protect it against alot of knocks and bumps.

If you want something in that colour you could try other gemstones. There are a couple of sapphires on the natural sapphire company’s site in ‘lime green’ which looks a similar shade, you could find some more elsewhaere. Tsavorites are still alittle soft for everyday wear but a bit harder than peridot, they have that lovely lumunous glow that peridot has but in a few shades darker.

I was interested in a peridot center stone for the ERing my bf and I have picked out. I’m interested in hearing how well they hold up!

I have a peridot engagement ring! I’ve had it for about six months and in my opinion it has held up extremely well considering how clumsy I am–no scratches as far as I can tell. I didn’t expect as many good reactions as I’ve had to my ring, which usually involves someone literally grabbing my hand and telling me how much they love it.

I had better pictures but it seems like in the website update they were all lost. ):

I got a peridot Ering for  almost 3 yrs now. My husband choose it for me because he knows it is my birthstone and I love  it 🙂 See picture below my Ering and wedding band.
